John Day River Smallmouth Bass

We are booking Bass trips for 2010 now.

A great trip for your family, kids, and the seasoned angler. The non-stop surface action is explosive! Sit back, relax, swim, and let us spoil and entertain you in camp. Take a four or five day adventure with us down a wild and scenic canyon of high desert rimrock. Some dates available for multi day trips are: June 13th-16th, June 22-25th and June 30-July 3rd. Please inquire about day trips and rates.

When you arrive at camp your tent will be set up with cot and pad. Ice,cold beverages and appetizers will be waiting.

Allow us to guide you, as you cast from our comfortable casting frames to all the prime bass hidey-holes. 

The John Day River offers some of the best Smallmouth Bass fishing in the country. Our season is at its peak June to the end of July. It is not uncommon to hook in excess of 75 fish per rod per day. These fish average from 8-12", with larger fish in the 18-20" range. The big fish for 2009 was a 21" monster that weighed 5.4 lbs!! This is the perfect river to introduce new flycasters to the sport, as the fish are typically aggressive and plentiful. The majority of the fishing is done from the boat and from the banks looking for feeding fish.
