2009 Sandy River Forcast!

Starting in January  steelhead will be in the Sandy River in good numbers. Early winter storms have assured us of plenty of water flow. As soon as the water flows come down under 5000 cfs the river will be calling! A nice snow pack has stored up and will provide the winter Steelhead and us, with plenty of fresh water through the season. The Sandy fishes through the winter into the spring and we stop guiding here in May. People wonder what the best month is to take a guided trip on the Sandy.  We have archived reports from the last two seasons to help you make this choice. One thing is clear; looking back on the previous couple of years the fish are here every month from January to May. Water and weather conditions play the biggest role in success.
