Last Week was my last for the season on the Sandy. John day Bass starts soon! We had very hot weather that melted a ton of snow and rose the Sandy to record spring runoff levels. I had the chance to guide the two days before the river blew out. We moved a lot of fish having many "grabs" and Joe Ballard beached a really nice Spring Native. Jere Eshelman, an avid angler from the east coast came out for a week on the Sandy, our plan was to fish two days before the Sandy River Spey Clave and two days after. The river was blowen-out thanks to high temperatures and massive snow melt. We did spend quality time on the water, casting, having fun, and experimenting with new lines and new rods. We made the best of it and I have a new friend! Looks like we will try to get redemption next year when Jere returns for the 2009 clave. Check out reports from the clave:
